In spite of what has just been said or done; nevertheless. Used to introduce a contrasting point that remains true despite the previous statement.
Usage & Nuances
More formal than "still" or "but." Interchangeable with "nevertheless" and "even so." Can appear at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence. Written as one word — not "none the less" (archaic).
