'Mileage' is usually used with cars and vehicles, either for total distance traveled (high/low mileage) or fuel efficiency (good/bad mileage). Informally, 'get mileage out of something' means to gain advantage or benefit repeatedly from it. Not used for walking/running distance (use 'distance' or 'steps' instead).
