To officially record the end of your working hours, usually by using a time clock or system at your workplace.
Usage & Nuances
Informal and common in workplace settings, especially for hourly jobs. Also said as 'punch out.' Opposite of 'clock in' (start work). Not used for simply leaving, only when officially ending work time.
