A toupee is a small wig or hairpiece worn to cover a bald spot on the top of the head, often by men.
Usage & Nuances
"Toupee" is fairly formal and slightly old-fashioned. People often use it humorously or to gently tease. Not the same as a full wig; a toupee covers only part of the head. Commonly used with the verbs 'wear', 'lose', or 'notice'.
