Definition

किसी चीज़ को अचानक और मजबूती से पकड़ना, अक्सर ज़बरदस्ती या जल्दी में। यह कभी-कभी क़ानूनी रूप से अधिकार में लेने का भी मतलब हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Seizing' आमतौर पर औपचारिक, कानूनी या सैन्य संदर्भों में आता है ('seizing power', 'seizing an opportunity', 'seizing evidence') और इसमें तेज़ी व ताक़त होना चाहिए। कोमल क्रियाओं के लिए नहीं। 'Ceasing' (रुकना) से न मिलाएँ।
