Usage & Nuances
Mostly used in libraries and archives to store large numbers of documents in a compact form. Becoming rare due to digital storage, but still found in historical or research settings. Pronounced 'MY-kroh-feesh'. Not to be confused with microfilm, which is usually rolled, not flat.
