Definition

「written」は、紙や画面などに文字として表現されたものを指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

話し言葉（spoken）と対比して使われることが多いです（例: written test, written agreement）。「have/has/had」と一緒に動詞の形で使う場合もあります（例: She has written a letter）。形容詞の場合は名詞の前に置かれます。
