他のことが起こらない場合にのみ何かが起こることを表す。例外や条件を示すときに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「unless」は否定条件を導入する語で、「if...not」と同じ意味を持つ。後ろに直接否定を入れない（例：× unless you don't come）。規則や警告、例外によく使う。

Examples

I will not call you unless it is important.

重要でない限り、あなたに電話しません。

We’ll be late unless we leave right now.

今すぐ出発しない限り、遅れてしまうよ。

You cannot go out unless you finish your homework.

宿題を終わらせない限り、外に出てはいけません。
