足で強く踏んで壊すこと。また、比喩的に人や権利を踏みにじるという意味でも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常、注意不足や無神経さから使われ、悪い意味を持つことが多い。「trample on/over someone's rights」は権利を踏みにじる、無視するという意味になります。日常的な歩行には使いません。
