থোরাকোটমি হলো একটি সার্জিকাল পদ্ধতি যেখানে বুকে কাটা দিয়ে ফুসফুস বা হৃদয়সহ বুকের ভেতরের অঙ্গগুলোতে পৌঁছানো যায়।

'থোরাকোটমি' শুধু চিকিৎসাক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়, বিশেষ করে সার্জন ও ডাক্তারদের মধ্যে। এটি রোগ বা অবস্থা নয়, একমাত্র সার্জিক্যাল পদ্ধতি বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
