बहुत ही तीव्र और गहरे डर की भावना। यह किसी ऐसी चीज़, व्यक्ति या हिंसक कार्य के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है जो लोगों में डर पैदा करे।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Terror', 'fear' से ज्यादा तीव्र शब्द है और आमतौर पर गंभीर संदर्भों में आता है। यह खबरों, horror कहानियों और formal writing में बहुत मिलता है; रोज़मर्रा की बोलचाल में लोग 'I was terrified' ज़्यादा कहते हैं, 'I felt terror' कम। यह 'a reign of terror' और 'in terror' जैसे fixed phrases में भी आता है।
