泣いたり、強い感情を感じたときに目から出る液体。悲しみや喜び、痛み、笑いの際にも出ることがあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

たいてい複数形「涙」で使います。「涙をこらえる」「涙があふれる」などの表現がよく使われます。布の「裂け目」とは異なります。
