आँखों से निकलने वाली तरल बूँदें, जो रोने, चोट लगने या गहरी भावना होने पर आती हैं। आँसू दुख, खुशी, दर्द या बहुत हँसने की वजह से भी आ सकते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द आम तौर पर बहुवचन संज्ञा 'tears' के रूप में इस्तेमाल होता है। सामान्य phrases हैं: 'burst into tears', 'fight back tears' और 'be in tears'. इसे 'tears' के उस अर्थ से न मिलाएँ जिसका मतलब कपड़े में फटना या चीरा होता है; उसका उच्चारण अलग है।
