Definition

突然起こる激しい怒りや泣き叫びで、主に子供によく見られる行動ですが、大人が子供っぽく振る舞う時にも使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に子供の突発的な感情の爆発に使いますが、子供っぽい大人にも使用します。「throw a tantrum」「have a tantrum」などの形で使われます。普通の怒りではなく、感情のコントロールができない状態を表します。

Examples

The child had a tantrum in the supermarket.

スーパーでその子が**かんしゃく**を起こした。

He threw a tantrum when he couldn't find his toy.

おもちゃが見つからなくて、彼は**かんしゃく**を起こした。

She sometimes has a tantrum before bedtime.
