किसी चीज़ को अचानक और तेज़ी से लेना, अक्सर जबरन। इसका उपयोग अचानक चोरी करने के लिए भी होता है।

आमतौर पर चोरी के संदर्भ में, जैसे 'bag snatching' (बैग झपटना)। अनौपचारिक शब्द है। इसका अर्थ है तेज़ी और अचानक किसी चीज़ को लेना। सामान्य या विनम्र लेने के लिए यह शब्द नहीं इस्तेमाल होता। खेलों में भी इस्तेमाल होता है।
