Definition
하인이나 종은 다른 사람의 집에서 청소, 요리, 집안일 등을 돕는 사람을 말합니다. 더 넓게는 누구나 또는 공동체를 위해 봉사하는 사람에게도 쓸 수 있습니다.

'하인', '종'은 옛날이나 격식 차린 상황에서 주로 쓰이며, 요즘에는 '가사도우미', '도우미'가 더 자연스럽습니다. 'public servant'는 '공무원'을 의미합니다.
