Definition
কিছু খারাপ বা কঠিন কিছুর অস্থায়ী বিলম্ব বা মুক্তি। সাধারণত শাস্তি বা অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনা স্থগিত হলে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

প্রধানত আনুষ্ঠানিক বা আইনগত ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়, যেমন—'execution'-এর 'reprieve'। স্থায়ী নয়, সবসময় অস্থায়ী বোঝায়।
