같은 장소나 상태에 변화 없이 머무르거나, 일부가 사용되어 남은 것이 있을 때 사용한다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

주로 공식적/중립적인 상황에서 'remain calm', 'remain silent'처럼 형용사나 명사구와 함께 쓴다. 남은 수나 사람이 있을 때는 'only two remain'처럼 쓴다. 'stay'보다 격식 있다.
