Definition

একই স্থানে, অবস্থায় বা পরিস্থিতিতে অপরিবর্তিত থাকা বা কিছু ব্যবহৃত, নেওয়া বা সরিয়ে ফেলার পর অবশিষ্ট থাকা।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'remain calm', 'remain silent' এর মতো আনুষ্ঠানিক বা নিরপেক্ষ প্রসঙ্গে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়; এখানে 'remain' 'stay' এর চেয়ে বেশি ফরমাল। কাউকে বা কিছু অবশিষ্ট আছে বোঝাতে 'only two remain' চলে।
