보통 'religious belief', 'religious festival', 'religious leader'와 같이 명사 앞에 씁니다. 사람에게 쓸 때는 실제로 종교를 실천하는 의미이며, 'spiritual'은 더 넓은 의미입니다. 비유적으로 어떤 일을 철저히 하거나 습관적으로 함을 뜻할 때도 사용합니다.
