Definition

力を使って何かを自分の方や特定の方向に動かすこと。また、引き寄せる、引っ張り出す、何かを取り除く意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に動作に使い、『pulling a door（ドアを引く）』『pulling a rope（ロープを引く）』など。『pull out』は引き出す、『pull aside』は脇に寄せる、『pulling strings』は裏で手を回すこと。「push（押す）」と混同しやすいので注意。
