কাউকে বা কিছু একটা ক্ষতি, বিপদ, বা হারানো থেকে নিরাপদ রাখা বা রক্ষা করার কাজ। এটি শারীরিক, আইনি, স্বাস্থ্যগত বা মানসিক নিরাপত্তার জন্য ব্যবহার হতে পারে।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
প্রায়ই 'from' বা 'against' (যেমন 'protection from the sun', 'protection against fraud') বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণ ও আনুষ্ঠানিক বাক্যে যেমন 'police protection', 'environmental protection' ইত্যাদি শব্দগুচ্ছেও দেখা যায়।
