बहाना वह तरीका है जिसमें कोई झूठे तरीके से व्यवहार या बात करता है ताकि असली स्थिति या भावना को छुपाया जा सके।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Pretense' औपचारिक और अक्सर नकारात्मक अर्थ में आता है, इसमें जानबूझकर धोखा देना शामिल है। आम वाक्यांश हैं: 'under the pretense of', 'make a pretense of'। इसे 'pretend' (क्रिया) से न मिलाएँ।
