Definition

何かや誰かを捕まえたり攻撃したりするために、素早く飛びかかること。主に動物に使われますが、比喩的にも使われます。

普通は動物（特に猫や捕食動物）について使われますが、機会や間違いを素早く利用する時など比喩的にも使われます。'pounce on' で「飛びつく」「すぐ反応する」の意味になります。
