Definition

海賊は、船を襲い財宝を奪う人たちのこと。また、映画や音楽などを違法にコピー・配布する人も指すことがある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「sea pirates」は物語などで、「movie pirates」や「ソフトウェアの海賊」は主に現代社会で違法コピーについて使います。「privateers（私掠船）」とは異なります。
