あまりの恐怖で動けなくなる状態。また、自然の力で石になったものにも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に強い恐怖を表すときに使う（例：“spiders が怖い”より強い）。まれに科学やファンタジーで「石になった」という意味でも使われる。口語的ではない。
