Definition

야구나 크리켓에서 각 팀이 번갈아 공격하는 경기의 구간을 의미한다. 크리켓에서는 '이닝스'라고 한다.

야구에서는 보통 9이닝으로 구성된다. 크리켓에서는 단수와 복수 모두 'innings'를 사용한다. 'a good innings'는 비유적으로 오랜 삶을 의미한다.

The home team scored three runs in the fifth inning.

홈팀이 5번째 **이닝**에서 3점을 득점했다.
