Hitching आमतौर पर मतलब है यात्रा के लिए वाहनों से मुफ्त लिफ्ट माँगना। यह किसी चीज़ को जोड़ने या बाँधने के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।

अधिकतर 'hitchhiking' (सवारी से मुफ्त यात्रा) के लिए उपयोग होता है। 'हिचिंग' किसी चीज़ को जोड़ने के लिए भी कह सकते हैं। 'Hitching a ride' बोलचाल में आम है। 'Itching' (खुजली) से न मिलाएँ।
