Definition

蝶番は、ドアや窓枠などの2つの部分をつなぎ、開けたり閉めたりできるようにする金属やプラスチックの部品です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常「蝶番」はドアやキャビネット、窓などに複数使われます。英語と同じく比喩的な表現もありますが、ここでは主に物理的な金具を指します。「hinge」が単数の場合は「蝶番一つ」を意味します。
