Definition

홈통은 지붕 끝이나 도로 옆에 있는 물이 빠지는 좁고 긴 통로입니다. 비유적으로는 더럽거나 낮은 상태를 의미하기도 합니다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

일반적으로 배수구나 홈통을 뜻하지만, 'in the gutter'는 밑바닥 인생을 의미하기도 함. 볼링에서는 레인 양 옆 홈을 말함.
