무언가를 눌러서 평평하게 하거나 납작하게 만드는 것. 힘이나 수준을 낮추는 의미로도 사용된다.

주로 물리적인 대상을 납작하게 만드는 데 사용되며, 비유적으로도 쓰임('flatten the curve'). 'flattened'는 형용사로 쓰이니 혼동하지 마세요.
