指や手で何かをいじったり、細かいことで時間を無駄にしたりすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「fiddling with」は「〜をいじる」という意味でよく使われます。特に集中できていない時や、無駄に細かいことばかりしている時に否定的な意味になることもあります。楽器の「バイオリン」とは別なので注意。
