تصِف سائلاً تم تنقيته عبر التسخين والتبخير ثم التبريد لإزالة الشوائب. يمكن أن تصف أيضًا شيئًا مكثفًا أو مبسطًا ليشمل الجوانب الجوهرية فقط.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

تستخدم غالباً في المجالات العلمية، التقنية أو المشروبات: "distilled water" (ماء مقطر)، "distilled spirits" (مشروبات روحية مقطرة). قد تستعمل مجازياً مثل "distilled wisdom" (خلاصة الحكمة). لا تخلطها مع "filtered" (مُرشَّح) فعملية التقطير تختلف عن الترشيح.
