দুই বা ততোধিক জিনিসের মধ্যে পার্থক্য বা ফারাক, যেমন দাম বা স্কোর; এছাড়াও গাড়ির একটি যন্ত্রাংশ যা চাকা ঘোরার শক্তি ভাগ করে।

প্রধানত টেকনিক্যাল বা একাডেমিক আলোচনায়, আর্থিক বিশ্লেষণে 'salary differential' বা 'temperature differential' ব্যবহার হয়। সাধারণ 'difference' শব্দের চেয়ে বেশি নির্দিষ্ট।
