जासूस या जाँच अधिकारी वे लोग होते हैं जिनका काम तथ्यों का पता लगाना, अपराध सुलझाना और यह जानना होता है कि किसी काम के लिए कौन ज़िम्मेदार है। कुछ संदर्भों में यह शब्द निजी जाँचकर्ता के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।
