관리가 되지 않아 버려지거나 매우 나쁜 상태에 있는 것. 주로 건물이나 장소, 때로는 방치된 사람을 나타냅니다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

격식적이고 문학적 표현이며, 대체로 건물이나 재산에 많이 쓰임('derelict building'). 사람에 대해 쓸 땐 방치된 뜻임. 주로 뉴스, 다큐, 법률에서 사용. 'dilapidated' (낡았지만 반드시 버려진 것은 아님)와 혼동하지 않기.
