किसी चीज़ की depth वह माप है कि वह ऊपर से नीचे तक कितनी गहरी है। इसका मतलब किसी विचार, भावना या चर्चा की गंभीरता, तीव्रता या विस्तार भी हो सकता है।

यह शब्द माप बताने में बहुत आता है, जैसे 'the depth of the pool'। यह अमूर्त अर्थों में भी सामान्य है, जैसे 'emotional depth' या 'depth of knowledge'। इसे 'deep' से न मिलाएँ; 'deep' आमतौर पर विशेषण होता है।
