難しいことや勇気がいることをすること。誰かに何かをやってみろと挑戦することも指す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

‘dare to do’は「勇気を出して～する」, ‘dare someone to do’は「～するように挑戦させる」。‘How dare you!’は怒りを強調。名詞形は遊び（例：truth or dare）によく使う。
