やさしく、辛抱強く、または励まして誰かを何かさせるよう促すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

強制ではなく、やさしく気長に説得する時に使う。特に子供や動物、控えめな大人に対してよく使われる。「coax someone into doing」などの表現が一般的。
