Definition

両手を何度も叩き合わせて音を出すこと。普通は賞賛や喜び、注意を引く時にする。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に観客やお祝い、励ましの場で使います。進行形で使われることが多いです（例：everyone was clapping）。 'slapping'（たたく）と混同しないようにしましょう。
