字幕付けは、ビデオやテレビ番組に話されている内容や説明を文字として表示する作業のことです。

「字幕付け」は、聴覚障害者のための情報も含む場合が多く、通常の「字幕」（翻訳のみ）と異なります。「クローズドキャプション」「オープンキャプション」という表現もあります。
