ビジネスや経済で急激な成長や人気が出ることを「ブーム」と言う。また、大きな爆発音のような深い音にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

経済や業界の盛り上がりは『○○ブーム』の形で多用される。音の意味では大きな衝撃音を指す。口語で突然の出来事を強調する時も使われる（例：『そして、どーん、と消えた』）。
