「board」の過去形。バス、電車、飛行機、船などの乗り物に乗ること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマルで、公的な乗り物（飛行機、船など）でよく使う表現。車にはあまり使わない。'bored'（退屈）と混同しないように。
