Definition

কোনো কিছু নিয়ন্ত্রণ, সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া, কিংবা নির্দেশ দেওয়ার অধিকার বা ক্ষমতা। এটি এমন ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানকেও বোঝাতে পারে, যার সরকারিভাবে ক্ষমতা আছে অথবা কোনো বিষয়ে বিশেষজ্ঞ হিসেবে সম্মানিত।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'have authority to do something', 'under the authority of', এবং 'local authorities'—এই ধরনের বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি 'power' থেকে বেশি আনুষ্ঠানিক; কোনো বিষয়ে অফিসিয়াল নিয়ন্ত্রণ বা বিশেষজ্ঞ সম্মান বোঝাতে ব্যবহার হয়, তাই প্রসঙ্গ বুঝে ব্যবহার করুন।
