무언가를 하려고 시도했음을 의미하거나, 아직 완전히 이루어지지 않은 상황을 설명할 때 쓴다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

동사로 쓸 때는 'attempted to...' 식으로 사용됨. 'attempted murder'처럼 공식적, 법률적 맥락에 자주 등장하며 일상 회화에서는 'tried'가 더 흔하다.
