出来事を年代順に記録した歴史書で、特定の場所や人物、物事の歴史を伝えるもの。主に公式な歴史記録に用いられる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に歴史や学術、文学的な文脈で使われます。「the annals of history」などの表現が一般的です。日常的な個人の歴史には使いません。単数形はほぼ使われません。
