Sanık, bir suç işlediği iddiasıyla hakkında dava açılan ve mahkemede yargılanan kişidir. Daha çok resmi ve hukuki ortamlarda kullanılır.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
'Sanık' kelimesi sadece yargılanan kişi için kullanılır ve 'suspect'ten daha resmidir. Cümlede fiil olarak kullanılmaz; örneğin, 'She accused him of lying.' gibi kullanım için uygun değildir.
