الاعتقاد أو الظن بشيء غالبًا بسبب نقص المعلومات أو عن طريق الخطأ.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

تستخدم عادة في الحديث والكتابة عندما يظن الشخص شيئًا يتضح لاحقًا أنه غير صحيح. غالباً تتبعها جملة 'that' ('I was under the impression that...'). تشير أحياناً إلى مفاجأة أو خيبة أمل.
