To make a copy of something, or for an animal or plant to produce offspring.
Usage & Nuances
Formal and often scientific. Used for making copies (e.g. 'reproduce a document') and for biological offspring ('fish reproduce quickly'). Not the same as 'produce' or 'copy'. For machines or art, 'reproduce' means to make a close version.
