A bandstand is a raised platform, usually outdoors in a park or public place, where musicians play for an audience.
Usage & Nuances
Mostly used to describe outdoor structures in parks for live music. Common in British English, less so in American English, but understood. Not to be confused with music stage or concert hall. Sometimes used for public speeches or events.
